Harissa Chicken Wings

Harissa spice is one of my favourite African spices. This recipe isn't the first time you will see Harissa on my blog- from making the spice from scratch and also using it for a similar dish. Check out the recipe here to know more about this spice and also how to do a home made one. Let's jump right into this quick and easy recipe.

Harissa chicken wings can be had on its own (very delicious!) or with whatever you enjoy chicken wings with. First time I made it, I had it with Nigerian coconut rice and fried plantain (by the way you can order delicious Nigerian coconut rice from myself here). Here are the list of ingredients, most of which you would already have in you kitchen cupboard!

Ingredients

-0.5 kg chicken wings

-2 tbsp Harissa spice powder

-2 tbsp Olive oil (or any other oil of choice)

-2-3 seasoning cubes

Equipment

-Bowl

-Cling film

-Oven pan

Process

-Clean the chicken wings and then pat dry

-Add the harissa powder, seasoning cube and the the oil

-Mix altogether making sure that the chicken is well coated.

-Leave the chicken to marinate for at least 2 hours. The longer the better- ie the more flavourful.

-Pre heat the oven to 180 degree celcius. Then put the marinated chicken wings in the oven pan and then into the oven. Grill for about 20 minutes until well cooked.

-Serve hot and enjoy as desired!

Check out the reels section of my Instagram page for a quick video showing the process here.
